Abstract:Doğubayazıt Fault is located in the north of the East Anatolian Compression Tectonic Block and in a tectonically active region. The internal deformation of the Lesser Caucasus Tectonic Block, including the Doğubayazıt Fault and obtained by GPS-based solid block models, is controlled by more than one parallel right lateral strike-slip fault. Doğubayazıt Fault is in the N35º-42ºW direction and consists of a 60 km long deformation zone. According to the data obtained by field studies and photogrammetric evaluation of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle data, it was observed that morphotectonic markers (creek, morphological and lithological displacements, alluvial fan, elongated ridge) were concentrated on Beruj, Kalus, Şemso and Pullutarla segments. In the drift studies carried out along the fault, it is seen that there are systematic drifts, in both large and small scales. The tectonic geomorphology and deformation characteristics of the Doğubayazıt Fault were determined with the help of morphometric indices. The indices used in the study are Hypsometric Curve and Integral (HE and HI), Drainage Basin Asymmetry (AF), Drainage Basin Shape (Shp), Normalized Channel Perpendicularity Index (Ksn). Taking into account both morphotectonics and field studies were evaluated together, it was observed that the northwestern part of the Doğubayazıt Fault was more active than the southeast, and the morphotectonic structures were concentrated especially in the northern parts. These results show that especially the northwestern parts of the Doğubayazıt Fault play an active role in the control of the internal deformation of the Lesser Caucasus Block.
