Abstract:ABSTRACT BUCK CONVERTOR DESIGN USING DIGITAL CONTROLLER TÜRKTAM, Merve M.Sc. Thesis, Electrical-Electronics Engineering Supervisor : Assoc. Prof. Dr. M. Nuri ALMALI January 2020, 69 pages In this study, a buck converter circuit of 60W 12V-5V is designed with digital control method. For this purpose, firstly the mathematical model of buck converter is obtained and critical inductance value is calculated for the converter to work in continuous-current mode, then the critical capacitance value is calculated for the fluctuation factor. Diode and MOSFET were selected considering the operating frequency and other factors in the circuit. Arduino microcontroller board is used as digital controller. The system response was monitored by changing the welding voltage suddenly while the system was operating. This process was tested with both PID and PI control methods. Reference values were changed after measuring the system response in welding voltage changes. These operations were performed with the codes written on the Arduino microcontroller board. As a result, PID-PI control methods were compared in the use of digital controllers. In the buck converter design using Arduino, the PID controller was found to be more successful in terms of seating time. Keywords: Arduino, Buck konvertör, PI, PID
