Abstract:

In this thesis study, the rehabilitative robotic arm orthosis system has been designed as a prototype for patients whose arm have been damaged due to any cause to carry out the necessary rehabilitation process after plaster treatment. The rehabilitative orthosis moves on a single axis to conduct flexion and extension movements of the elbow and wrist joints at desired angles and numbers. The mechanical parts of the system have been designed and manufactured with the Solid Works program. Step motors driven by motor drivers have been used in order to gain mechanical parts the ability of motion. The system has been controlled by the Arduino microcontroller card that communicates serially with the computer installed with the interface program developed using the C # programming language. In addition, the developed interface program keeps the identification information and treatment information of each patient in the database. The designed system offers advantages thanks to its more ergonomic, easy to use interface program and lower cost than the existing products marketed for commercial purposes.
