Abstract:The acceleration of the globalization process has led to an increase in economic integration between countries in the world. The European integration process, which started with the establishment of the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC) in 1951, accelerated with the Treaty of Rome in 1957. The Paris Agreement, which was signed by six European countries (West Germany, Belgium, France, Netherlands, Italy and Luxembourg) in order to implement the Common Market idea in some products in the first place, evolved towards a greater integration over time. The Customs Union, the Single Market, and the Economic and Monetary Union (EPB), in which 18 of the last 27 members joined, were passed, respectively. With the Maastricht Treaty, the goal of establishing a ''United European States'' including security, justice, economy, domestic and foreign policy was pursued. Thus, it is aimed to be an institutional actor with a single and strong Europe, whose politics, economy and ideal are the same in the international system. For this purpose, geographical, economic, political and legal integration was desired to be completed. In this direction, the Amsterdam Treaty was signed in 1997 and the European Union took its current form with the Lisbon Treaty in 2007. It is seen that the Union is constantly changing and transforming with institutions and organizations for the continuity of a stable development. The main purpose of this study is to reveal how successful the regionalization and integration movement has been in the European geography. The stages of European integration and how successful it is are mentioned. In this context, scanning model was used in the research. Since it is a qualitative research, it presents a descriptive and realistic picture. It comes to the fore what the collected data say about the research subject or what results it reveals. In this research, books, journals, articles, conference papers and internet resources written in this field were used as the main resources.
