ÖZ
Teknolojinin gelişimiyle birlikte bilgiye erişilebilirliğin çok hızlı olduğu günümüzde, kitaplar ayrı bir değer ifade etmektedir. Bilginin asıl kaynağı olan kitapları elde etmek eski dönemlerden çok daha kolaydır. Buna bağlı olan okuma alışkanlığı, toplumların gelişmişlik derecelerini gösteren ölçütlerden birisidir. Bu çalışmada üniversite öğrencilerinin kitap okuma alışkanlıklarına yönelik tutumlarının ve bu tutumları etkileyen faktörlerin belirlenmesine çalışılmıştır. Öğrencilere 18 sorudan oluşan bir anket uygulanmıştır. Anket çalışmasında; öğrencilerin gelir durumu, yetiştikleri evlerde kitaplık olup olmadığı, kütüphane alışkanlıkları, okudukları kitap miktarları, özel günlerde hediye olarak kitap verip vermedikleri ve okumaya engel olan nedenler gibi farklı konular üzerinde durulmuştur. Ayrıca tercih ettikleri kitap türleri ve yolculuk esnasında yanlarında kitap, gazete, dergi gibi yayınların olup olmadığı sorulmuştur. Elde edilen bulguların, cinsiyet durumuna göre ve toplamda nasıl şekillendiği tablolar ile gösterilerek değerlendirmeye alınmıştır. Ortaya çıkan sonuçlar verildikten sonra öneriler sunulmuştur.

ABSTRACT
Today, with the advancement in technology, access to information is very fast; however, books present an inestimable value. Getting books that are the main source of information is much easier than it was in earlier times. This study aimed to determine the attitudes of university students towards reading habits and the factors which influence those attitudes. An 18 item question survey was conducted among the students. In the research, the Students Reading Habits questionnaire was used to determine students’ reading habits. In the questionnaire study; various issues such as financial conditions, library habits of the students, and the number of books they read, whether the houses they stay in have libraries and whether they give boks as gifts on special occasions; and the reasons that prevent them from reading have been laid emphasis on. In addition, we asked them about the genre of the book they prefered reading, and whether they had publications such as books, newspapers and magazines with them during a trip. Obtained findings were evaluated according to gender status and how they were shaped in total by showing them through charts. Suggestions were presented in accordance with the results.
