Özet

In many industrial applications, heat must be transferred in the form of either an energy input into the system or removal of energy produced in the system. Impinging fluid jets have been widely used in many industrial processes, such as paper drying, glass tempering, gas turbine blade cooling, and electronic cooling. In this study, the literature on impingement jet for finned heat sinks is investigated and the parameters affecting heat transfer is determined. It has observed that especially heat exchangers, nuclear reactors, computers and a lot of electronics cooling the fins are used for heat transfer from the system. Particularly, the fins are commonly use that increase convective heat transfer for the purpose of cool the electronic devices. Heat sinks reduce junction temperature by increasing surface area and turbulence for this reason increasing operation temperature. It has concluded that heat transfer characteristics of impinging air jets vary depending on many parameters such as nozzle geometry, velocity profile, nozzle to surface distance, finned surface geometry, and temperature difference among the jet, surface and ambient.
