He was born in Kırşehir in 1977. He graduated from Yıldız Technical University with a
bachelor’s degree in Geophysics in 1996. He received his master’s degree from Middle
East Technical University, Division of Marine Geology and Geophysics (Erdemli/Mersin)
in 2003. He received his PhD from Istanbul Technical University, Eurasian Institute of
Earth Sciences in 2011 (İstanbul). He has been working as a assistant professor at
Yuzuncu Yıl University in Van since 2013 and Post-doctoral researcher at University of
Oulu in Finland since 2015 (August). He published research papers in various academic
journals in English and in Turkish on tectonics, active deformation, structural
development, faulting and faults, statistical seismology, seismotectonics. He teaches
courses in introduction to seismology and physics of earthquakes.
