Özet

Orchardgrass (Dactylis glomerata L.) is one of the most important forage grasses which used as a cool-season persistent and perennial forage grass in Turkey, and many other countries that have temperate and cold climates. This research was carried out during 2018 and 2019 growing season in Eastern Anatolia region in Turkey, which is a gene center and home of many rangelands and forage crop species. The research aimed to determine some morphologic characteristics of natural Orchardgrass (Dactylis glomerata L.) which were collected from 20 different locations of Eastern Anatolia in 2018 and 2019. The results showed the significant differences to the numbers of the tiller/plant, plant height, blade width for flag leaf, blade length for the flag leaf, spikelet length, internode length, panicle length, 1000 seed-weight, these traits were ranged between 1 to 35. 45 to 150 cm, 1.5 to 7 mm, 2.40 to 23 cm, 3.7 to 10.10 mm, 6.2 to 33 cm, 2.8 to 20.5 cm , 0.30-1.20 g, respectively. Depending on the results obtained from this research it will be possible to use some genotypes in breeding programs (selection and hybridization).
