Özet

Objective: in this study, it is aimed at giving infoımation about the serological methods that are used in the serotypical taxonomy of bacterial fısh pathogens which have an important role in occurrence of various fish diseases. Uses of those methods and their irnportance in struggling against fısh pathogens have also been reviewed.

Methods: Mainly serological methods used in serotpying the pathogens causing bacterial fısh diseases and application ways of those methods have been reviewed through rrent literature. There are two serological methods: Qualitative methods and quantitative methods. Qualitative methods are: Precipitation test, flocculation test, agglutination test and cornplement fixation test. Quantitative methods are: Turbidimetric and nephelometric measurements, marked immunochemical measurements.

Results and Discusslon: in this study, some essential methods that are needed to serologically assess the bacterial pathogens, causing infections in fıshes, have been referred. - rological methods have an important place within prophylactic measures against fish diseases. Currently, serological studies are used in such topics as early diagnosis, having some preiiminary idea on infection and immunity, characterization of isolation and developing vaccine.
