8th International Hydrogen Technologies Congress, Diyarbakır, Türkiye, 12 - 15 Mayıs 2024, ss.1-5
The purpose of this study is not only to
determine the opinions of energy systems engineers on hydrogen energy but also
to evaluate the content of hydrogen energy, which is a renewable energy source,
presented in primary, secondary, and university-level education programs. For
this purpose, the content of science education programs at the primary and
secondary levels has been examined. In addition, the curriculum of science
education departments in universities has been examined, and scientific studies
conducted in our country on renewable energy sources and hydrogen energy have
been evaluated. A reflective journal form consisting of open-ended questions
was applied to eight students graduating from the Energy Systems Engineering
department of universities to determine their opinions on hydrogen energy. The
data obtained were analyzed using the content analysis method. As a result of
the research, it is observed that hydrogen energy is not adequately addressed
in the primary and secondary education curricula, and in the science education
department, there are elective courses related to renewable energy sources. The
opinions of energy systems engineers on hydrogen energy will be presented in
detail.
