Ahşap malzeme üstün özellikleri nedeniyle insanlık tarihi boyunca kültürel ve teknolojik gelişmelerden etkilenmiş ve insanların hayatında kendine yer bulmuştur. Tarih boyunca ortaya çıkarılan değerli sanat eserleri incelendiğinde günümüze ulaşan birçok eserde ahşap malzemelerin kullanıldığı görülmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, ahşap sanat eserlerinin özelliklerinin belirlenmesi ve envanter bilgilerinin değerlendirilmesi sürecini ortaya çıkarmaktır. Çalışmada, güncel akademik literatürde yer alan ahşap sanat eserleri ile ilgili tanımlayıcı bilgiler ve eserlerin çalışıldığı müzelerdeki envanter kayıtları incelenmiştir. Ahşap sanat eserleri ile ilgili verilen bilgilerin bilimsel kanıtlara dayanıp dayanmadığı ve eserlerin verileri tartışılacaktır. Eserlerin güvenilir bilgisinin üretilmesi sürecinde bilimsel ve kanıta dayalı yöntemlerin kullanımı tartışılacaktır. Sonuç olarak ahşap sanat eserlerinin özellikleri doğru ve güvenilir yöntem ve tekniklerle ortaya çıkarılarak sanat eserlerinin gerçek değerlerinin anlaşılacağı düşünülmektedir. Bu süreç, disiplinler arası çalışma ve uzmanların işbirliğini gerektirir. Böylelikle ahşap sanat eserleriyle ilgilenen halka güvenilir bilgi sağlanmasına katkı sağlayabilir. Due to its superior properties, wood material has been influenced by cultural and technological developments throughout human history and has found a place in peoples lives. When the valuable works of art that have been revealed throughout history are examined, it is seen that wood materials are used in many works that have survived to the present day. The purpose of this study is to reveal the process of defining the properties of wood art works and the evaluation of inventory information. In the study, descriptive information about the wooden art works in the current academic literature and inventory records in the museums where the works are studied were examined. Whether the information given about wooden artworks is based on scientific evidence and data of the works will be discussed. The use of scientific and evidence-based methods in the process of producing reliable information of the works will be discussed. As a result, it is thought that the real values of art works will be understood by revealing the properties of wooden art works with correct and reliable methods and techniques. This process requires interdisciplinary work and collaboration of experts. In this way, it can contribute to providing reliable information to the public who are interested in wooden artworks.
