Özet

A method has been developed to reduce the negative effects of superabsorbent polymers on concrete mechanical properties in this study. The method includes concrete mixing and curing stages. A decision tree algorithm has been used to design concrete mixture. In curing, air curing conditions has been applied, different from the standard water curing approach. In addition, heat treatment was applied to reduce the possible negative effect of these polymers on the mechanical properties of concrete and to achieve greater performance from the polymers. All these outlined stages and their details are presented as a method. Different experimental studies have been carried out to demonstrate the validity of the proposed method. The effectiveness of the proposed method has been proven.

  •              The method can be used to eliminate the negative effect of superabsorbent polymer.
  •         As a result of the proposed method, it was found that the expected level of the compressive strength, the modulus of elasticity and the toughness of concrete can be reached in 5-10 days instead of 28 days.
  •    It has been contributed to the widespread use of superabsorbent polymers in the concrete industry and reinforced concrete systems.
