Prof. Şefik Tüfenkçi

Biography

He was born in Van in 1965. He completed his primary and secondary education in the same province. He completed his undergraduate education in Van Yüzüncü Yıl University, Faculty of Agriculture in 1989, and his graduate studies in 1995 in the Soil Science Department of the same University. He was appointed as Assistant Professor in 1996, Associate Professor in 2000 and Professor in 2006 at the Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Agriculture at Van Yuzuncu Yıl University.

He conducted many undergraduate - postgraduate courses in various units of the university. He advised numerous graduate thesis studies. He is a member of the editorial board and editor in international scientific journals. In addition, he has 4 international book chapter authorships, over 100 scientific studies published in national and international scientific journals and congresses, 20 of which are SCI, SCI Expanded indexed.

In addition to participating in many scientific congresses and meetings, he also took part in the organization of social and cultural activities. Out of his scientific field; The Ministry of Education Folkdance Advisory Board Member, Turkey's Education and Research Committee Member Folk Dance Federation, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Tourism Ministry of Youth and Sports General Directorate of Folk Dance Jury Member, University Sports Federation Folk Dance Technical Committee Member and also folk dances Van The Provincial Representative carried out his duties.

He has held several administrative and professional positions in the academic process such as; Dean of Faculty of Agriculture, Dean of Faculty of Dentistry, Vice Dean, Head of Department, Head of Department, University Board Member, University Senate Membership, Faculty Committee and Faculty Membership in Different Faculties, Additional Course Fee Commission Chair, Social and Cultural Activities Commission Chair Associate Professor Review and Commission Membership, KOSGEB Regional Advisory Board Member, Van Provincial Directorate of Agriculture, Land Protection Board Member. He was appointed as the Assistant Secretary General and Board Member of the International Universities Council in November 2019, and as the Vice Rector of Van Yuzuncu Yil University in April 2020. He is still carrying out these duties.
