Özet

AMAÇ:
Mandibular gelişim yetersizliğinden kaynaklanan İskeletsel Sınıf II maloklüzyonlarda, ortopedik tedavi, büyüme gelişim dönemi içinde alt çenenin öne alınmasını sağlayan fonksiyonel apareyler ile sağlanabilmektedir. Bu olgu sunumunun amacı, iskeletsel sınıf 2 maloklüzyona sahip bayan hastanın twin- blok aparey uygulaması ile fonksiyonel çene ortopedisi tedavisi ardından sabit ortodontik tedavisinin sunulmasıdır.

OLGU:
Kronolojik yaşı 13 yıl 9 ay olan bayan hastanın muayenesinde konveks bir profile sahip olduğu, sınıf II molar ilişkisi ve artmış overjeti (11:7 mm; 21:9,5 mm) bulunduğu belirlendi. Sefalometrik analiz sonucunda hastada iskeletsel Sınıf 2 maloklüzyon (ANB:6°) olduğu saptandı. Hastaya 8 ay süre ile twin-blok apareyi ile fonksiyonel tedavi uygulandı ve mandibular ilerletme sağlandı. Daha sonra sabit ortodontik tedavi 11 ayda tamamlandı.

SONUÇ:
Kabul edilebilir estetik profil, ideal overjet, overbite ve Angle sınıf I ilişki elde edildi. Hastanın fonksiyonel ve estetik beklentileri karşılandı 

OBJECTIVE: In skeletal class II malocclusons caused by mandbular growth defcency, orthopedc treatment can be provded wth functonal applances that allow the lower jaw to be brought forward durng the growth and development perod. The am of ths case report s to provde functonal jaw orthopedc treatment wth the applcaton of the twn-block applance n a female patent wth skeletal Class 2 maloccluson, and other then to present a fxed orthodontc treatment.

CASE: It was determned that the female patent, whose chronologcal age was 13 years and 9 months, had a convex profle, a class II molar relatonshp and ncreased overjet (11:7 mm; 21:9.5 mm). As a result of the cephalometrc analyss, the patent was found to have skeletal Class 2 maloccluson (ANB: 6°). The patent was gven functonal treatment wth a twn-block applance for 8 months and mandbular advancement was acheved. Later, fxed orthodontc treatment was completed n 11 months.

CONCLUSION: Acceptable aesthetc profle, deal overjet, overbte and Angle class I relatonshp was obtaned. The functonal and aesthetc expectatons of the patent were met.
