Özet

Many studies were carried out in recent years in order to improve heat transfer capacities, particularly in the systems incorporating high temperatures and heat fluxes. From this aspect, with impinging jet, the flows are commonly used as a low-cost cooling method in various applications including heat treatment of metals, metal annealing, metal sheet fabrication, cooling the gas turbine blades, turbine seals, high density electronic chips, solar cells, internal combustion engines, drying the fabrics and paper, etc. In this study, heat and flow parameters are investigated in multi-nozzle jet impingement heat transfer for flat plate using angled nozzle. In these experiments with using flat plate, fixed nozzle angle (α=10°), three different nozzle diameter (d=25mm,32mm,40mm), three different ratio of the jet height to the nozzle diameter (h/d=1,2,3) and five different value of jet velocity in 4-9 m/s were used. As a result of the experiments, the effects of the nozzle diameter, dimensionless distance and jet velocity on heat transfer characteristics were researched. The results were presented as Nu-Re graphics. It is observed that Nusselt number increased with increasing Reynolds number and the Nusselt number was also found to decrease with an increase in the distance between nozzle and heat sink.
