Enterprises operating in Organized Industrial Zones (OIZ) provide

various advantages in terms of development and growth by supporting each

other with activities that complement their production. Businesses operating in

the same sector become competitors of each other and this situation provides

the necessary dynamism for businesses to gain a competitive advantage. The

aim of this study is to make a general situation analysis of Van OIZ. Within

the scope of this purpose; the basic functions of the OIZ were tried to be

determined and the factors hindering its development were tried to be

determined, information about the capacity and competitiveness of the

enterprises in the OIZ was collected and analyzed. Face-to-face interviews

were conducted with 41 active enterprises among 126 enterprises registered in

Van OIZ which accepted our request for interview and surveys were

conducted. According to the research findings; the most rooted enterprises

operating in Van OSB; it has been determined that they are from the "food",

"construction", "chemistry, oil, rubber, and plastic" sectors. The average

capacity utilization rate (CUR) of enterprises was determined as 54.4%. In the

results of the study; the basic functions of the OIZ, the factors that hinder the

development of the OIZ, the reasons for the low capacity of the enterprises,

and the factors affecting the competitive advantage have been determined.
