Bu araştırmanın amacı Muş Ovası kuş varlığını ortaya koymaktı. İki yıl süren arazi çalışmaları sonucunda 19 takım içerisinde yer alan 49 familyaya ait 148 kuş tespit edildi. IUCN kriterlerine göre alanda varlığı belirlenen kuş türlerinin statüleri; 1 Endangered (EN), 3 Vulnerable (VU), 7 Near Threatened (NT), 135 Least Concern (LC) ve 2 tür kapsam dışındadır. BERN kriterlerine göre 102 tür Ek liste II içinde, 38 tür Ek liste III içinde ve 8 tür ise liste kapsamına girmemektedir. Merkez Av Komisyonu Kararları (MAK) güncel listesi ile yapılan kıyaslamada alanda tespit edilen türlerden 21’i Ek liste I’de, 23’ü Ek liste II’de ve 104’ü ise liste kapsamı dışında kalmaktadır. CITES’e göre tespit edilen türlerin 23’ü Ek liste II içinde yer alırken, geriye kalan 125 tür listenin kapsamı dışındadır. Alanda yaşayan kuş türlerinin Bölge Statüsü durumu incelendiğinde 14 türün Kış Ziyaretçisi (KZ), 11 türün Transit (T), 55 türün Yerli (Y) ve 68 türün ise Göçmen (G = Yaz Göçmeni) olduğu görüldü. Yerli ve Göçmen türler araştırma alanında veya çevresinde üreyen türlerdir. Bu durumda 123 tür Muş Ovası ve çevresinde üremektedir. Bu sayı gözlenen türlerin %83,1’i teşkil etmektedir. Bu sonuç başta İron Sazlığı olmak üzere alanın kuş türlerinin üremesi bakımından önemini açıkça ortaya koymaktadır.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the presence of the bird species in the Muş Plain. As a result of two year-long observations, 148 bird species belonging to 49 families in 19 orders were detected. According to the IUCN criteria, the statuses of the detected bird species were as the following: 1 Endangered (EN), 3 Vulnerable (VU), 7 Near Threatened (NT), 135 Least Concern (LC) and 2 were not in the scope of listing. According to the BERN criteria, 102 species were listed in Appendix II and 38 were listed in Appendix III, while 8 were not in the scope of listing. In the comparison made with the National Game Commission Decisions (MAK) current list, 21 were listed in Appendix I, 23 was listed in Appendix II, and 104 were not in the scope of listing. According to CITES, 23 of the detected species were listed in Appendix II, while the remaining 125 were not in the scope of listing. Considering the Regional Status cases of the bird species living in the area, 14 were Winter Visitors (WV), 11 were Transit Migrants (TM), 55 were Resident Species (RS) and 68 were Migrants (M = Summer Migrant). Resident and Migrant species were breeding in the research area and its surroundings. In this case, 123 breeding bird species detected in the Muş Plain and its surroundings. This number constitutes 84.1% of the observed species. This result clearly demonstrates the importance of the region, especially the İron Reeds, for breeding bird species.
