Nowadays, the importance of heat transfer is increasingly growing in both daily life and industrial processes. With the technological advancements, cooling high heat flux generating microprocessors, electromechanical systems, and circuit components has become of great importance. It is stated that the application of impinging jet cooling is a fast, economical, and efficient method. In this study, the heat transfer performance of finned and non-finned heat sinks positioned at a specific incline under the influence of multiple jet impacts was examined. An experimental investigation was conducted on heat sinks to examine the impacts of varying nozzle diameters, H/D distances, and velocity values under a constant heat flux of 400 W and a heat receiver angle of 10°. The analyzes were performed using nine nozzles arranged in a 3x3 grid, three different nozzle diameters (d=25, 32, 40 mm), three different dimensionless nozzle-heat sink distances relative to the nozzle diameter (H/D=6, 7, 8), and five different velocity values (V=5, 6, 7, 8, 9 m/s). In conclusion the acquired data were illustrated through Nusselt-Reynolds graphs, and the influence of the parameters on heat transmission was examined. For finned and unfinned heat exchangers, the analysis determined that the Nusselt number rises with an increase in pipe diameter and Reynolds number, whereas it diminishes as the distance between the nozzle and the heat exchanger expands. At constant heat flux and heat sink angle values, the highest Nusselt number was calculated in the rectangular finned and unfinned inclined heat sink, at a nozzle diameter of D=40mm, at a dimensionless distance of H/D=6, and at a flow rate of 9m/s. In contrast, the lowest Nusselt number was calculated for the inclined heat sink without fins and rectangular finned inclined heat sink, with a nozzle diameter of D=25mm, at a dimensionless distance of H/D=8, and an airflow velocity of 5m/s.
