Abstract

This study aimed to produce bioethanol from Nannochloropsis gaditana in various municipal wastewaters. Microalgae were cultivated at 24 +/- 2 with f/2 medium for control. Bioethanol yields of of Nannochloropsis gaditana in various municipal wastewaters (0, 30, 60 and 100 %) range from 70.3 +/- 2.4 mg. g biomass(-1) to 94.3 +/- 5.5 mg. g biomass(-1) and % 30 of wastewater had the highest bioethanol yield (94.3 +/- 5.5 mg. g biomass(-1)). These fmdings suggest that Nannochloropsis gaditana in different municipal wastewaters can be used for bioethanol production after wastewater disinfection process. (C) 2018 The Authors.
