Özet

This book includes eleven papers that address current issues in tourism. The selected papers present a relevant and rigorous contribution to tourism research.

We have three case studies. The first case study reveals the potential of creative tourism products of Isparta province in the Western Region of Turkey (Kilinc and Bulgan, 2022). Second case study describes a post-modern museum concept in the case of Hatay Archaeology Museum (Ayhan, 2022). In the final case study, Avci (2022) evaluates Ambar Stream Kanyon as a geomorphosite and possibility and tourism potential. This study further examines the geological, geomorphological and hydrographic features of the canyon and its surroundings and the features that ad touristic value

In this book, Zeydan and Gurbuz (2022) also investigate the relationship between aviation and accommodation industries as well as the effect of pandemic on air transportation and accommodation. Korkmaz, Celik and Budak (2022) evaluate the public hospitals’ approach to health tourism and assess their websites and social media platforms. Baykal and Ogan (2022) explore strategies to mitigate the effects of climate change on tourism in rural regions. Guney (2022) examines the social and spatial function or identity change of the Eastern Express through content analysis of national media. With their research, Yavuz,Gul and Demirel aim to determine the leadership orientations and personality traits of employees who will take roles in managerial positions in businesses.

Also, Ibis and Bulhan (2022) explore the effects of over tourism on the social and natural environment in Cesme, which has an important place in Turkish tourism, and reveals the relationship between development in tourism, environment and local peoples. Babacan and Kislali (2022) focus on female travelers and travel constrains. Their paper examines the studies on women’s travel restrictions between 2010 and 2021 with bibliometric analysis method. Finally, Yigitoglu and Sahin (2022) investigate the entrepreneurial intention of students taking gastronomy and culinary arts education by applying planned behavior theory. Their study reveals the effect of attitude and perceived behavioral control on students’ entrepreneurial intention, whilst this effect is not significant for subjective norm

Collectively, studies in this book provides theoretical insights and actionable levers for tourists and practitioners. It also raises important questions for tourism policy makers.
