Bu makalede, Platon’un ideal devlet teorisinde yer alan ve
toplumsal tabakalaşmaya yol açan sınıflar ile bu sınıfların konumları
incelenmektedir. Toplumsal tabakalaşma ve sınıf olgusunun iyi
anlaşılmasının önemli bir yolu da Platon’un bu konu ile ilgili düşüncelerinin
anlaşılmasından geçtiği söylenebilir. Dolayısıyla çalışma esas itibariyle,
Platon’un bu konudaki düşüncelerinin anlaşılmasına yardımcı olabilecek üç
önemli yapıtına; Devlet, Devlet Adamı ve Yasalar ile onun ideal devlet
teorisi ile ilgili eserlere dayanmaktadır. Bu eserlerden hareketle; (1-)
Platon’un ideal devlet teorisinde toplumsal sınıflar ve konumları, (2-)
Yönetici sınıfın önemi ve eğitimi, (3-) Sınıflar arası geçiş, adalet ve eşitlik
gibi üç alt başlık halinde konu işlenmektedir. Böylece Platon’un toplumsal
sınıflar hakkındaki düşünceleri derinlemesine incelenerek analiz edilmiştir.

In this article, the classes leading social stratification and the positio
ns of these classes are examined in Plato’s ideal state theory. İt can
be sait that one important way of beter understanding of the social stratificati
on and class phenomenon passes through the ideas of Plato
on this issue. Therefor, this study is, grounded on three important work of
Plato, namely, the State, the State man and laws, and also his other works rel
ated with the theory of the ideal state, which would be helpful for our underst
anding of Plato’s ideas on this subject. Based on these works, (1-) Plato’s ideal state theory of social classes and positions. (2-) The importance of the ruling class and its education. (3-) Transition between classes, justice and equality are covered in three subtitle subject. So, Plato’s ideas about social classes have been analyzed in dept
h by the examining.
