Özet

The liver–brain axis extends beyond classical endocrine, neural, and inflammatory pathways. We propose an immunometabolic framework in which the liver integrates nutritional, microbial, and environmental cues and generates bioactive metabolites that function as systemic signals. Bile acids, short-chain fatty acids, tryptophan derivatives, ketone bodies, and microbiota-associated metabolites may influence immune-cell metabolism, microglial function, blood–brain barrier integrity, and neuronal bioenergetics. Our four-stage model comprises hepatic metabolic sensing, metabolite encoding, systemic immune decoding, and neurofunctional adaptation. This metabolite-centered perspective provides an integrative framework for understanding interorgan communication and may reveal novel biomarkers and therapeutic targets in translational neuroscience.
