Özet

This paper presents a compact wideband triangular microstrip patch antenna with a symmetrical dual-slot configuration, designed and experimentally validated for C-band and WLAN applications. The antenna is realized on a standard FR-4 substrate (εr = 4.4, tan δ = 0.02, h = 1.6 mm) within a compact 40 × 40 mm² footprint. Through a systematic three-step design evolution, symmetric triangular slots are etched into the triangular radiating patch to improve radiation performance and impedance matching. The proposed antenna achieves an impedance bandwidth of 3200 MHz, spanning from 5 GHz to 8.2 GHz, covering the Wi-Fi 6, ISM, and C-band frequency allocations. A peak realized gain of 5.4 dBi and a radiation efficiency of 78.5% are recorded at 5.8 GHz. Good agreement between simulated and measured results confirms the validity of the design approach. Unlike some designs presented in the literature that require complex procedures such as parasitic elements or complex grounding configurations to achieve similar bandwidth, the proposed antenna stands out as a practical alternative for C-band, ISM and WLAN applications by providing competitive gain and wideband performance through a simple symmetrical slot pair. Overall, the main novelty of the proposed design lies in integrating a fully symmetric dual-triangular-slot configuration into a compact triangular radiating patch to achieve wideband operation while maintaining a simple single-layer structure.
