ThisstudyaimstorevealthediversityandprevalenceofectoparasitesinownedcatsanddogsinAntalya.BetweenNovember2021andAugust2022,25ownedcatsand38dogsbroughttoaprivateveterinaryclinicforexaminationwithinthecityborderofAntalyawereexaminedforthepresenceofticksandfleas.Fleaswerecollectedbycombingthedog’shairwithafleacombandcollectedinbottlescontaining70%alcohol.Tickspeciesweresystematicallycollectedfromtheheadstothetailsofdogsandcatswiththehelpofsmallsteelforcepswithbluntendswithoutdamagingtheirmouths.Afteridentifyingfleasandticksusingtherelevantliterature,theirphotographsweretaken.Itwasdeterminedthat11(28.9%)ofthe38dogsexaminedwereinfestedwithRhipicephalussanguineusticks,and3(7.9%)wereinfestedwithR.sanguineusandCtenocephalidescanis,withatotalrateof36.84%.Ofthe25cats,6(24%)wereinfestedwithCtenocephalidesfelistypefleas,and2(8%)withC.felisandR.sanguineus,atotalof32%.Fleasandticksareessentialforcatsanddogsbecausetheytransmitdiseasestootheranimalsandhumans.Fromthepointofviewofpublichealth,theectoparasiticconditionincatsanddogsshouldbeobservedandcontrolled
