Özet

Purpose: In this study, we aimed to investigate the results, complication types and rates of the image-guided interventional procedures performed in our institution. Materials and Methods: Data of the patients who underwent a diagnostic or therapeutic procedures in a 15 months period, was retrospectively recorded from the hospital database. Regarding to the procedure type, patients were classified to thyroid fine needle biopsy, tunneled catheter replacement, liver biopsy, nephrostomy tube placement, breast biopsy, lymph node biopsy, mass biopsy and percutaneous abscess drainage groups. Results: Totally 526 patients were included in this study. The age range of the patients were between 15-91 years and female/male rate was 2,98 (394/132). Three complications occurred which include a perithyroidal hematoma in thyroid fine-needle biopsy group, a kinking of the catheter in nephrostomy tube placement group and a subcapsular hematoma in liver biopsy group. Overall complication rate was 0,6% (3/526) and all these three complications were managed with conservative approaches with no invasive interventions. There was no mortality associated with procedures. Conclusion: Imaging-guided interventional radiological procedures are effective and safe which increase patient comfort Key Words: Biopsy, complication, imaging-guided
