El-Esmâu’l-Hüsnâ, “en güzel isimler” demek olup Allah’a ait tüm isimleri ifade etmek üzere kullanılan bir terkiptir. Kur’ân’da yaygın bir şekilde kullanılan bu isimler, birçok âyette veya âyetin sonunda zât-ı ilâhî’yi niteleyen ve tanıtan isimlerdir. Allah’ın bu isimlerinin Kur’ân’da rastgele serpiştirilmediği, tek ya da ikili olarak gelen bu isimlerin, geçtikleri âyetlerin ve o âyetlerin içerisinde yer aldığı pasajların muhtevasıyla sıkı bir münâsebet içinde oldukları görülmektedir. Bilhassa ikili isimler; birbirlerini karşılıklı olarak dengelemekte, geçtikleri âyette bildirilen manayı kalplere ve akıllara yerleştirmekte, âyetlerin toplu bir özetini vermekte, bazen âyette vurgulanan hususun kaynağını ve sebebini belirtmektedir. 87 âyette Allah’a nisbet edilen “Azîz” ismi hiç tek başına gelmemiş, daima Esmâ-i Hüsnâ’dan dokuz isimden biri ile birlikte gelmiştir. Bu isimler: Hakîm, Alîm, Rahîm, Gaffâr, Gafûr, Kavî, Vahhâb, Cebbâr ve Hamîd’dir. “Azîz” isminin birlikte geldiği diğer isimler (el-Esmâu’l-Hüsnâ) ile geçtiği âyetlerin içerikleriyle olan bağlantısı incelendiğinde tenâsüp/uyum içinde olduğu görülür.

Al-Esmâu’l-Hüsnâ meaning "the most beautiful names" is a phrase used to state all names belonging to Allah. Widely referred in the Qur’an, these names describe and characterize the essence of Allah within or at the end of various verses. It is obvious that these names are not scattered randomly and that these names revealed individually or as a pair are closely related to the verse in which they are included and to the content of the verse context. Particularly the names revealed as a pair balances each other; instill the revealed meaning in the verse in the hearts and minds of readers; give a total summary of verses; and sometimes specify the source and cause of the issue emphasized in the verse. The name Al-'Aziz/The Almighty attributed to Allah in 87 verses never came alone but always came together with one of the nine The Most Beautiful Names. These names are Al-Hakim/The most Wise, Al-'Alim/The all Knowing, Ar-Rahim/The most Compassionate, Al-Ghaffar/The repeatedly Forgiving, Al-Ghafoor/The much Forgiving, Al-Qawee/The powerful, AlWahhab/The Bestower, Al-Jabbar/The all Compelling and, Al-Hamid/The Praiseworthy. When the name “Al-'Aziz” is analyzed with other concurrent names (The Most Beautiful Names) and the content of the related verses, it is obvious that they are in harmony.
