Öz
8. yüzyılda Osmanlı hanedanına mensup hanım sultanlar, iktidarın paydaşları olarak şehir hayatında daha fazla görünür hâle gelmiş, çeşitli faaliyetleriyle şiirin de konusu olmaya başlamışlardır. III. Selim’in kız kardeşleri Beyhan Sultan ve Hatice Sultan’ın yaptırdıkları saraylar için başta Şeyh Galip olmak üzere dönemin saraya yakın şairleri tarih manzumeleri söylemiştir. Bu şiirler estetik bakımdan fazla bir değer taşımamakla birlikte tarihin bir kesitine düşülen notlar olarak önem arz etmektedir. Daha çok şairin hanedan karşısındaki sadakatinin ifadesi olan bu manzumelerde bahsedilen mekânın gerçek görünümü hakkında pek fazla bilgi bulunmaz. Hanım sultanların sarayları hakkında detaylı tasvirler yabancı seyyahların anılarında mevcuttur. Özellikle İngiliz elçilik mensubu Dallaway, Beyhan Sultan’ın sarayı hakkında detaylı bilgi vermektedir. Onun tanıklığı, Beyhan Sultan’ın sarayının duvarlarına işlenmiş olan şiirin Şeyh Galip’e ait olabileceğini düşündürmektedir. Dönem şairlerinden Pertev, Hoca Neşet ve Hatif de hanım sultanların sarayları için şiir söylemişlerdir. Bu şiirler içerik ve üslup bakımından birbirine çok benzemektedir. Araştırmada, Şeyh Galip’in Beyhan Sultan’a gizli bir aşk beslediği, Hatice Sultan’ın ressam Melling ile aşk yaşadığı iddiaları da değerlendirilmiştir. Günümüze ulaşan metinlerde bu rivayetleri doğrulayan herhangi bir veri tespit edilmemiştir.
Abstract
In the 18th century, lady sultans belonging to the Ottoman dynasty became more visible in city life as the stakeholders of power and began being the subject of poetry with their various activities. For the palaces built by sisters of Selim III, Beyhan Sultan, and Hatice Sultan, the poets of the period who were close to the court, especially Sheikh Galip, sang historical poems. Although these poems do not carry much aesthetic value, they are significant as notes written on a section of history. In these poems, which are mostly the expression of the poet's loyalty towards the dynasty, there is not much information about the real appearance of the mentioned place. Detailed descriptions of the palaces of lady sultans are available in the memoirs of foreign travellers. Particularly Dallaway, a member of the British embassy, gives detailed information about Beyhan Sultan's palace. His testimony suggests that the poem engraved on the walls of Beyhan Sultan's palace may belong to Sheikh Galip. Pertev, Hodja Neşet, and Hatif, who were poets of the period, also sang poems for the palaces of the lady sultans. These poems are very similar to each other in terms of content and style. In the study, the allegations that Sheikh Galip had a secret love for Beyhan Sultan and Hatice Sultan fell in love with the painter Melling were also evaluated. No data confirming these rumors have been identified in the texts that have survived to the present day.
