Man Ray, Meret Oppenheim, Christo, Joana Vasconcelos,
Mona Hatoum, Ann Hamilton, Tara Donovan, Lucas Samaras, Eva Hesse,
Tony Cragg, Damien Hirst ve Jan Fabre’ın üretimleri bu minvalde üç bölüme ayrılarak incelenmiştir.
Using a surface is one of the oldest ideas or needs of man. The
earliest examples of this decision are prehistoric wall murals and reliefs
made by acts like sketching, painting, carving, and scraping on the surface
of materials. In addition, customs that have persisted since ancient times
include cutting, painting, and tattooing geometric patterns on the surface of
the body in a variety of societies. Humanity has tended to encounter, create and use a surface from Çatalhöyük, where the walls are covered with ox
heads, to today's architectural surfaces, to the oldest forms of three dimensions, to color and drape, to the object and even to the interior of the object.
Therefore, a life adventure that touches and affects the surface so much includes art. We discuss circumstances like producing a surface, sculpting a
surface, utilizing a surface, or interfering with a surface in classical, modern, and postmodern art creations. In this sense, the surface is the most important element that enables the form to be perceived as one of the components that make up the formal structure of the work of art. The use of different materials on different surfaces changes the effect these surfaces have
on the audience. In this way, the study focuses on the reinterpretation of
the surfaces of different shapes and discusses 12 artists who manipulate the
surface in relation to the issue. The productions of Man Ray, Meret Oppenheim, Christo, Joana Vasconcelos, Mona Hatoum, Ann Hamilton, Tara Donovan, Lucas Samaras, Eva Hesse, Tony Cragg, Damien Hirst and Jan Fabre are analyzed in this way by dividing into three parts.
