Terör kavramı genel itibari ile birden fazla kişinin bir araya gelerek bir örgüt çerçevesinde cebir, şiddet,
tehdit gibi yollarla korku ve panik ortamı yaratarak siyasal bir amaca ulaşmak amacıyla güvenlik
kuvvetlerine veya sivillere yönelik yapılan ses getirici eylemler şeklinde tanımlanabilir. 1970’ li yılların
sonuna doğru Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Devleti’nin karşı karşıya kaldığı ve uzun yılladır mücadele ettiği terör
olgusu başta ekonomik, sosyal, coğrafi, beşerî ve siyasal hayat olmak üzere birçok alanı etkilemiştir. Terör ve
terör eylemleri maalesef birçok alanda ve coğrafi bölgede etki bırakmıştır. Terör eylemlerinin geçmişte
yoğun yaşandığı Doğu Anadolu Bölgesi’nde, her alanda hissedilen terör gerçeği, kamu görevlilerinin özelde
ise bu bölgede çalışan akademisyenlerin çalışma hayatına da sirayet etmiştir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, tarihsel
olarak Doğu Anadolu Bölgesi’nde kurulmuş olan en köklü üniversitelerden biri olan Van Yüzüncü Yıl
Üniversitesi ile yeni kurulmuş olan Bitlis Eren Üniversitesi örnekleri üzerinden Doğu Anadolu Bölgesi’nde
görev yapmakta olan akademisyenlerin terör kaygısının ölçülmesi hedeflenmiştir. Bu kapsamda belirtilen
üniversitelerde görev yapmakta olan akademisyenlerin terör kaygısını ölçmek için anket tekniği yöntemi
kullanılarak yüz yüze anket uygulaması yapılmıştır. Anket sonuçları SPSS 22 paket programı kullanılarak
analiz edilmiştir. Yapılan analiz neticesinde Doğu Anadolu Bölgesi'nde görev yapmakta olan
akademisyenlerin; terör kaygılarının olup olmadığı, terör kaygılarının var olması halinde sebepleri,
imkânları olması halinde başka bir bölgede görev yapmayı tercih edip etmeyecekleri gibi konulara cevap
aranmıştır.
The concept of terrorism can generally be defined as the resounding actions taken against the security forces
or civilians in order to achieve a political goal by creating an atmosphere of fear and panic by means of
force, violence and threats, by gathering more than one person within the framework of an organization.
Towards the end of the 1970’s, the phenomenon of terrorism, which the Republic of Turkey faced and fought
for many years, affected many areas, especially economic, social, geographical, human and political life.
Terrorism and terrorist acts have unfortunately left an impact in many areas and geographical regions. In the
Eastern Anatolia Region, where terrorist acts have been intense in the past, the reality of terrorism felt in all
areas has also spread to the working life of public officials and especially academics working in this region.
The aim of this study is to measure the terror anxiety of academics working in the Eastern Anatolia Region
through the examples of Van Yüzüncü Yıl University, which is one of the most rooted universities historically
established in the Eastern Anatolia Region, and the newly established Bitlis Eren University. In this context, a
face-to-face survey was conducted using the survey technique method to measure the terror anxiety of the
academics working at the universities mentioned. The survey results were analyzed using the SPSS 22
package program. As a result of the analysis, the academicians working in the Eastern Anatolia Region;
Questions such as whether they have terror concerns, their reasons for terror concerns, whether they would
prefer to work in another region if they had the opportunity, were sought.
