Müzeler bir ulusun kültürel, sanatsal, tarihsel ve bilimsel gelişmesine katkı sunan kurumların
başında gelmektedir. Günümüz müzecilik anlayışındaki ilerleme ve gelişmenin önemli bir
ayağını oluşturan sanat tarihi disiplini de müze sergi ve koleksiyonlarında bulunan eserleri her
yönüyle aydınlatıp yorumlayarak katkı sağlamaktadır. Bu incelemedeki ana argüman sanat
tarihi disiplini ile müze ve müzecilik alanındaki ilişkiyi ve bunun önemini ortaya koymak,
müzelerin sanat tarihi bilimi açısından ne denli önemli olduklarını belirlemektir. Bunun yanı
sıra, araştırmada Türkiye’de bulunan müze türleri ve bunlar arasında ön plana çıkanlara
kısaca değinmek hedeflenmiştir. Sanat tarihi disiplininin müzeler ile ilgili ilişkisini ortaya
koymak bu çalışmadaki amaçlardan bir diğeridir. Ayrıca bu çalışmayla bilim insanları ve
araştırmacıların dikkatini bu iki disipline çekmek, çalışmadaki hedefler arasındadır. Bu
araştırmanın bir diğer amacı, sanat tarihi bilimi ile müzelerin önemi ve fonksiyonu gibi
hususlar ile toplumla müzeler arasındaki ilişkide gelinen noktalar irdelenecektir. Türk sanat
tarihi bilimi açısından müzeciliğin ve müzelerin ne denli önemli oldukları, ana hatlarıyla ele
alınacaktır.
Museums are leading institutions that contribute to the cultural, artistic, historical and
scientific development of a nation. The discipline of art history, which constitutes an important
pillar of the progress and development in today's museology understanding, also contributes
by illuminating and interpreting the works in museum exhibitions and collections. The main
argument in this study is to reveal the relationship between the discipline of art history and the
field of museums and museology and its importance, and to determine how important museums
are for the science of art history. In addition, in this research, it is aimed to briefly touch on the
types of museums in Turkey and the ones that stand out among them. Another aim of this study
is to reveal the relationship between the discipline of art history and museums. In addition,
drawing the attention of scientists and researchers to these two disciplines with this study is
among the objectives of the study. Another aim of this research is to examine the issues such as
the science of art history, the importance and function of museums, and the points reached in
the relationship between society and museums. The importance of museology and museums in
terms of Turkish art history will be discussed in general terms.
