Dünyadaki en çok büyüyen ve gelişen sektörlerden biri olan turizm, bazı sorunları da beraberinde getirmektedir. İnsanların refah seviyelerindeki artışla beraber turizm talebi her geçen yıl artmaktadır. Artan turizm talebi ile destinasyonlardaki taşıma kapasitesinin aşılmasıyla aşırı turizm sorunsalı meydana gelmektedir. Aşırı turizm sorunsalı hem turistler hem de yerel halk üzerinde olumsuz etki yaratmaktadır. Nitekim aşırı kalabalıklaşma sonucunda her şeyden önce destinasyonun sürdürülebilirliği tehlikeye girmekte, turistlerin seyahat deneyim kalitesi düşerken, yerli halkın da yaşam biçimine birçok yönden balta vurulmaktadır. Yapılan çalışma kapsamında aşırı turizm kavramı ve aşırı turizmin hem turistler hem de yerel halk nezdindeki olumsuz etkileri ele alınmıştır. Çalışmanın sonucunda aşırı turizm sorunsalının azaltılmasına yönelik öneriler sunulmuştur.

Tourism, which is one of the most growing and developing sectors in the world, brings with it some
problems. With the increase in people's welfare levels, the demand for tourism is increasing every
year. With the increasing demand for tourism and exceeding the carrying capacity in destinations, the
problem of over tourism occurs. The over-tourism problem has a negative impact on both tourists and
local people. As a matter of fact, as a result of overcrowding, first of all, the sustainar bility of the
destination is endangered, the quality of the travel experience of the tourists decreases, and the
lifestyle of the locals is undermined in many ways. Within the scope of the study, the concept of over
tourism and the negative effects of over tourism on both tourists and local people will be discussed.
As a result of the study, suggestions were presented to reduce the problem of over tourism.
