Abstract

The biological function of milk is to supply nutrition and immunological protection to the young mammal. Healthy milk should be consumed for be healthy. Economically important milk constituents traits include fat, protein, SNF, lactose and ash. More than 95% of the cow milk proteins are constituted by caseins and whey proteins. Among the caseins, beta casein is the second most abundant protein and has excellent nutritional balance of amino acids. Beta casein composition of milk and milk products has become an important economic trait of dairy animal. BCM7 is suggested to be associated as a risk factor for human health hazards as it can potentially affect numerous opioid receptors in the nervous, endocrine and immune system. The aim of this review has evaluated to role of beta casein A2 gene for healthy milk consumption.
