MEMTEK 2025 8th International Symposium on Membrane Technologies and Applications, İzmir, Türkiye, 12 - 14 Kasım 2025, ss.259-260, (Özet Bildiri)
This study
investigates the catalytic conversion of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) into
5,5-(Oxybis(methylene))-bis-2-furfural (OBMF) using graphene oxide (GO) and
metal-doped graphene oxide catalysts (GO-Ce, GO-Ce-Fe, GO-Ce-Ni). The catalysts
were synthesized using a Tour's method and characterized through FTIR, XRD,
SEM, and TEM, confirming effective Ce doping and cerium oxide nanoparticle
dispersion on GO. The GO-Ce catalyst achieved a maximum OBMF yield of 97% at
140°C over 12 hours. GC-MS and NMR analyses validated the high conversion
efficiency of OBMF. Comparative studies showed GO-Ce's superior selectivity and
stability over other catalysts.
