This study was conducted to determine the effects of factors such as sex, birth type, mother mating and postpartum live weight on the birth and weaning weights of kids obtained from Kilis goats. According to the study results, the birth weight of kids was significantly affected by sex, mating and postpartum live weight of parents (P<0.001). The birth weight of male kids was 3.01±0.08 kg and of females was 2.60±0.06 kg. In goats with mothers' postpartum weight ≥35 kg, the birth weight of kids was 3.24±0.14 kg. In goats with mothers' postpartum live weight ≥45 kg, the average birth weight of kids was recorded as 3.40±0.19 kg. When the weaning weights of kids were compared, it was determined that sex and mother body weight had significant effects (P<0.001). Accordingly, male kids reached a weight of 14.99±0.46 kg, and females reached a weight of 11.59±0.38 kg. The highest weaning weight (15.45±0.87 kg) was achieved in the group with a mating weight of ≥35 kg. Birth type had no significant effect on birth weight (P>0.05), and single-born kids had numerically higher birth and weaning weights compared to twins. The results obtained show that the live weight and sex factor of the mother should be taken into consideration in increasing the growth performance of the kids in Kilis goats, and that it is important to take into account the factors whose effects are examined in increasing the productivity in Kilis goat breeding.
