Abstract

The dichogamy is one of the important biological characteristics of walnut. In this study, the dichogamy stability of walnut has been analyzed and investigated blooming period of the same 83 walnut types in the same place in different years. The results showed that blooming sequence of staminate and female flowers was steady in walnut types for different years. There was not statistical difference between protandrous and protogynous types in points of the average yield (k/tree), nut characteristics and lateral and terminal buds producing (%) pistillate flowers.
