Because of their structural diversity and uniqueness, red, green and brown macroalgae secondary metabolites have recently gained significant interest as potential structures leading to the identification of medicinally useful agents, including those with potential anticancer, cytotoxic and antimetastatic activities. Among these compounds, alkaloids attract special attention due to pharmacological activities. The aim of this study is to investigate the anti-cancer efficacy of macroalgae alkaloid tyramine on colon cancer cell lines (HCT-116, CaCo2 and HT-29).
