Bu araştırmada, spor yöneticiliği öğrencilerinin staj sürecine ilişkin beklentilerinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Katılımcıların beklentilerine yönelik görüşlerini detaylı olarak ortaya koyabilmek adına nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden temel nitel araştırma deseninden faydalanılmıştır. Araştırma grubunu, amaçlı örnekleme yöntemlerinden olan ölçüt örnekleme ile seçilmiş 19 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Bu doğrultuda; 2024-2025 eğitim öğretim döneminde mesleki eğitim kapsamında staj sürecini tecrübe edecek olan spor yöneticiliği bölümü lisans öğrencileri araştırmaya dâhil edilmiştir. Katılımcı sayısının belirlenmesinde veri doygunluğu esas alınmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak Spor Yöneticiliği Öğrencilerinin Staj Sürecine İlişkin Beklentileri başlıklı yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılmıştır. Veri toplama aşamasında bireysel görüşme ve odak grup görüşme yöntemlerinden faydalanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde ise nitel içerik analizine başvurulmuştur. Katılımcıların staj sürecine yönelik beklentileri; Profesyonel Gelişim ve Deneyim ve Kariyer İmkanları ve İlişkiler olmak üzere iki kategoriye ayrılmıştır. Profesyonel Gelişim ve Deneyim kategorisinde Uygulamalı Öğrenim, Sektör Dinamiklerini Anlama ve Beceri Geliştirme alt kategorileri yer almaktadır. Kariyer İmkanları ve İlişkiler Kategorisinde ise, Sektörel İlişkiler ve Etkileşim, Kariyer Seçimi ve İş Olanakları alt kategorileri tespit edilmiştir. Bu bulgular, katılımcıların staj sürecine ilişkin beklentilerinin akademik ve mesleki gelişim unsurlarına dayandığını ortaya koymaktadır. Bilhassa uygulamada deneyim kazanma ve sektörel bağlantılar kurma beklentileri, öğrencilerin istihdam safhasına hazırlanma noktasında önem arz etmektedir. Araştırma bulgularının, spor yöneticisi yetiştirmek amacıyla uygulanan staj programlarının geliştirilmesine ve öğrenci beklentileri doğrultusunda düzenlenmesine katkı sağlayabileceği düşünülmektedir.

This study aims to examine the expectations of sports management students regarding the internship process. To explore participants' expectations in detail, the basic qualitative research design, one of the qualitative research methods, was employed. The research group comprises 19 students selected through criterion sampling, one of the purposive sampling methods. Accordingly, undergraduate students in the sports management, who will experience the internship process as part of vocational education during the 2024- 2025 academic year, were included in the study. Data saturation was considered when determining the number of participants. A semi-structured interview form titled Expectations of Sports Management Students Toward the Internship Process was used as the data collection tool. In the data collection phase, individual interviews and focus group discussions were conducted. The data were analyzed using qualitative content analysis. Participants' expectations of the internship process were categorized into two main categories: Professional Development and Experience, and Career Opportunities and Networking. The Professional Development and Experience category included subcategories such as Practical Learning, Understanding Sectoral Dynamics, and Skill Development. The Career Opportunities and Networking category encompassed subcategories like Sectoral Relationships and Interaction, and Career Choices and Employment Opportunities. These findings reveal that participants' expectations regarding the internship process are primarily focused on academic and professional development. In particular, expectations of gaining practical experience and establishing sectoral connections are crucial for preparing students for the employment phase. The research findings are expected to contribute to the improvement of internship programs aimed at training sports managers and to the alignment of these programs with student expectations.
