Özet

Microalgae are gaining popularity due to their rapid growth and ability to use organic metabolism, for the removal of micropollutants from wastewater (WW). Micropollutants can be defined as pollutants that are present at the level of micrograms per liter and have a bad effect on the environment and living life and microalgae can remove these compounds, such as organic, inorganic, pharmaceutical, and hormonally active substances, from industrial WW. The purpose of this chapter is to explain how microalgae can be used to remove micropollutants from industrial WW using methods such as adsorption, bioaccumulation, photodegradation, biotransformation, volatilization, and biodegradation, and to investigate how artificial neural networks, fuzzy logic, random forests, long-short term memory, and reinforcement learning methods in wastewater treatment.
