Özet
This study examines the presence of the tet(A), tet(B), tet(C), and tet(M) genes, the existing sequence-based diversity, and descriptive antimicrobial susceptibility profiles in 28 Aeromonas isolates obtained from environments associated with aquaculture in the Euphrates River Basin. Twelve pooled environmental samples were collected from six monitoring sites over a 12-month period. Since water samples from three depth ranges at each monitoring site were pooled, no depth-specific comparisons were made. The compiled dataset consisted of 4 field-derived isolates and 24 stock collection isolates. Sequence identification based on the 16S rRNA region was confirmed for 11 isolates, with reported similarities ranging from 96.04% to 97.43%. The presence of antibiotic resistance genes was investigated using conventional PCR and gel imaging; positive bands were observed for tet(B) in 17/28 (60.7%), tet(A) in 11/28 (39.3%), tet(M) in 9/28 (32.1%), and tet(C) in 3/28 (10.7%). The antibiotic susceptibility of all isolates was evaluated using the Kirby-Bauer disk diffusion method, based on CLSI standards. Disk diffusion results were recorded for nine antimicrobial agents. The findings obtained in this study support the continued monitoring of tetracycline-related genes in aquaculture environments.
