Özet

Cumhuriyetle başlatılan eğitim seferberliği ile okullaşma oranını artırma ve okulların öğretmen eksikliği giderilmeye çalışılmıştı. Bu maksatla “İlk Muallim Mektebi” ve “Köy Muallim Mektebi” kurulmuştu. Ayrıca okuma-yazma oranını artırmak için “Halk Dershaneleri” faaliyete geçirilmiş ve daha sonra “Millet Mektepleri” kurulmuştu. Bunun yanında kırsal kesimlerdeki halkın eğitilmesi, temel eğitimle beraber köylülere rehberlik yapacak öğretmenler yetiştirmek amacıyla “Köy Eğitmenleri Kanunu” çıkarılmıştı. Bu yöndeki çalışmalarla “Köy Enstitüleri” kurulmuştu. Kurulan enstitülerin sonuncusu 18 Kasım 1948’de Van-Ernis’te açılmıştı. Ernis Köy Enstitüsü, bölgenin ihtiyaç duyduğu öğretmenleri yetiştirecekti. Köy Enstitüleri, DP İktidarı Dönemi’ne kadar faaliyette bulunmuştu. Bu dönemde enstitüler tasfiye edilerek yerlerine öğretmen okulları açılmış ve bu nedenle Ernis’te açılan enstitü uzun ömürlü olamamıştı. With the educational campaign having started with the Republic, efforts were made to increase the schooling rate and fulfill the teacher requirements of the schools. In this context, “First Teacher School” and “Village Teacher School” were established. Furthermore, “Public Training Centers” were founded and then “Public Schools” were launched to increase the rate of literacy. Additionally, in order to educate the public in rural parts and to train teachers to guide the villagers “Village Teachers Law” was enforced. Accordingly, “Village Institutes” were founded. The last of the institutes founded was opened in Van-Ernis in November 18 of 1948. Ernis Village Institute would educate the teachers this region requires. Village Institutes were active until the rule of Democratic Party government. During this government, Institutes were deployed and teacher high schools were established instead, therefore the Institute in Ernis was not long-termed.
