Abstract

This study was designed to determine the relation between anticardiolipin antibodies and left atrial and/or left ventricular thrombus detected by transthoracic and/or transesophageal echocardiography in patients with acute myocardial infarction, Patients with acute myocardial infarction who had positive anticardiolipin immunoglobulin G and/or immunoglobulin M antibodies appeared to be at higher risk for thrombus formation in the left atrium and/or left ventricle.
