Özet

Application of impinging jets are aimed to realize a high rate of heat transfer by using the least amount of flow rate. In this study, heat and flow parameters are investigated in single nozzle jet impingement heat transfer for optimized rectangular finned heat sink and flat plate. A rectangular finned heat sink, which was previously optimized according to the Taguchi method, was used. In these experiments with using optimized rectangular finned heat sink and flat plate, a plain circular nozzle in 75 mm diameter, three different ratio of the jet height to the nozzle diameter (h/d=1,2,3) and five different value of jet velocity in 5-9 m/s were used. As a result of the experiments, the effects of the dimensionless distance and jet velocity on heat transfer characteristics were researched. The results were presented as Nu-Re graphics. It is observed that Nusselt number increased with increasing Reynolds number and the Nusselt number was also found to decrease with an increase in the distance between nozzle and heat sink. The finned heat sink and flat plate were compared in experimental conditions related to the heat transfer enhancement efficiency for a constant fan power. It was concluded that the finned heat sink improved the heat transfer by maximum 40.60% compared to the flat plate.
