This anthology questions what remains in the social fabric of the contemporary Turkish nation state of the Ottoman legacy of ethnic and linguistic diversity for which the empire was once famous. Focusing not only on legally recognized minorities, but rather on ethno-cultural Others, each of the ten chapters is dedicated to one of the ethno-religious groups, examining its integration processes and exclusion mechanisms.
