Özet

In this study, the performance of the catalyst at different parameters for hydrogen production from catalytic hydrolysis of sodium borohydride (NaBH4) was evaluated with plant-derived support material. To prepare waste green walnut shells (GWS) as a support material, the best waiting time hours in the oven at 180 °C was first investigated. In the experimental phase, the effects of different metal ratios of 5%, 10%, 20%, and 30% on NaBH4 hydrolysis were tested with the combination of Co/GWS, Mo/GWS and Co-Mo-B@GWS metals. From the investigation of the catalytic activity of the synthesized nanocomposites for NaBH4 hydrolysis in hydrogen production (HP), the best results were observed in the case of 6 h holding time, 10% metal ratio and metal composition Co-Mo-B@GWS. The effects of parameters such as NaOH and NaBH4 concentrations in the solution, catalyst quantity and temperature on NaBH4 hydrolysis were also investigated separately. All parameters show that the catalyst has superior performance with catalytic activity and reaction completion time. The maximum HP rate reached 9725.2 mL/gcat/min at 30 °C. This study highlights the use of plant-derived materials as catalyst support materials.
