3D
working approaches, which can be used in different disciplines today, are
becoming increasingly important in terms of reflecting the design concretely
visually. When the areas of use are examined, it can be used in many spatial
planning and analyzes such as municipal services, city and regional planning,
architectural studies, remote sensing and geographical information systems
modeling, direction finding and marking systems, natural disaster and emergency
planning. In addition, the new computer system designed with the development of
technology has started to be used in games and visualizations. When the 3D city
model approaches are examined, it has been observed that many operations can be
performed in rural areas, as well as in urban areas, especially in the surface
studies of the land. It has been determined that they are used as digital
models where the details reflecting the urban identity such as the buildings on
the land surface, vegetation cover, infrastructure, landscape designs and urban
furniture are shown in point coordinates.
In
this study, it is aimed to reveal the importance of different field examples in
terms of landscape designs within the scope of 3D city models. Within the scope
of the study, the importance and different functions of models in terms of verification,
synthesis and presentation in design and application studies in the field of
landscape architecture are examined. Thus, it is aimed to put forward the
conclusion that 3D city models can also form a base while making landscape
designs and are important for ensuring integrity in design.
