The Palestinian issue is a topic that many authors have addressed in various ways. The Jordanian-Palestinian engineer and novelist Ṣubḥī Faḥmāwī, also addressed this topic, directly or indirectly, in his novels. In this regard, Faḥmāwī‘s most striking novel is “صديقتي اليهودية”  (My Jewish Friend). The author mentions more than one hero in the novel's storyline. However, one of the most important heroes is Jamal Qasim, and the other is a “Mexican Jewish” Yāīl Adam. The primary subject of the novel is the journey of an Arab individual who defends the Palestinian cause and a Jewish individual Yāīl, who defends the righteousness of Israel, and their discussion during a touristic trip involving seven European states. It is remarkable that the novelist narrates the Palestinian cause through a Jewish character. It must be emphasized that this character is a headteacher in her thirties and the mother of two young people who are educated at her school. She initially believes that the Israelis are right in their practice and is thinking to send both sons to Israel to fight against Palestinians after they graduate. The author tells about this issue, which concerns almost the entire world and Muslims in particular, through Palestinian and Israeli characters and tries to convince the interlocutor with different narratives and style by presenting different arguments. The handling of the subject in this way made it fluent and gave the reader the opportunity to look at the event from different angles. In this study, it will be tried to determine the characteristics of the “Jewish character ” chosen by the author and to reveal the contribution of this character to the narrative.
