Özet

Ammonia-borane (AB) hydrolysis is a practical route for hydrogen generation, yet developing highly active and stable catalysts remains a challenge. Herein, a Ru/RuO₂@MOF-808 catalytic system was fabricated via a two-step solvothermal approach, featuring uniformly dispersed Ru/RuO₂ nanoparticles anchored onto the MOF-808 framework. The catalyst exhibited exceptional performance for AB hydrolysis, achieving a low activation energy 30.4 kJ × mol−1 and a high turnover frequency (TOF) of 136 min−1. Crucially, the enhanced catalytic activity is driven by the synergistic electronic interactions at the Ru/RuO₂ heterojunction and the strong metal-support interactions with MOF-808. Detailed mechanistic insights reveal that the co-existence of metallic Ru0 and oxidized Ru4+ (RuO₂) creates localized electron-deficient and electron-rich centers, which simultaneously accelerate the cleavage of BH bonds in AB and facilitate the activation of H2O molecules. Furthermore, the porous channels of MOF-808 prevent nanoparticle agglomeration while promoting rapid mass transport and substrate accessibility. This work underscores the pivotal role of intentional heterojunction engineering on MOF supports to tune the catalytic centers for efficient hydrogen production.
