This study presents the first integrative taxonomic record of Daleomyces brunnescens (M. Carbone, M. Vega & Van Vooren) from Türkiye and documents its first confirmed occurrence on the Asian continent, supported by detailed morphological and molecular evidence. Specimens collected from Çanakkale Province were examined using detailed macroscopic and microscopic characters and analyzed within a two-locus phylogenetic framework based on internal transcribed spacer and large subunit sequence data. Comparative BLASTn (The Basic Local Alignment Search Tool for nucleotides) analyses of the internal transcribed spacer and large subunit regions revealed ≥99% sequence identity with European accessions of D. brunnescens, while concatenated internal transcribed spacer + large subunit maximum-likelihood inference placed the Turkish material unambiguously within the D. brunnescens clade, clustering with high support alongside European isolates. This study reports the first record of Daleomyces in Türkiye and the first confirmed record of D. brunnescens from the Asian continent.
