ABSTRACT Various healthcare organizations emphasize that breastfeeding should begin within the first hour after birth, that the baby should be exclusively breastfed for the first six months, and that breastfeeding should continue until the age of two. The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of the hypnobreastfeeding method on the bond between mother and baby, the breastfeeding process, and milk production. Breast milk is crucial during the first years of life; however, the breastfeeding process may be disrupted due to stress, physical discomfort, and environmental factors. Babies need time and practice to adapt to the sucking process and to make it a habit, as it is instinctive for them. Similarly, mothers also need to get used to the breastfeeding process and improve it through practice. Although there are educational programs and counseling available worldwide and in our country to improve breastfeeding skills, breastfeeding rates are still not at the expected level. There are many non-pharmacological methods to improve the breastfeeding process by increasing lactation. Among these methods, Hypnobreastfeeding has gained significant attention in recent years, and its usage rate has increased. In the modern world, the need for guidance for mothers to focus on their instincts has increased the popularity of this method. Hypnobreastfeeding aims to provide subconscious support to the mother through positive affirmations. In this process, the mother gets to know her body and baby and can continue breastfeeding with mindfulness and compassion. During hypnobreastfeeding, mental relaxation is achieved, stress hormones are reduced, and the secretion of oxytocin and prolactin hormones increases, supporting milk production. Additionally, hypnosis reduces blood pressure and heart rate, promoting relaxation. Studies have shown that hypnobreastfeeding positively affects breastfeeding success and prolongs the duration of breastfeeding. In this context, it is suggested that the integration of hypnosis techniques into the breastfeeding process may enhance milk production, make the breastfeeding experience more comfortable and efficient, and reduce stress and anxiety experienced during this period, thereby strengthening the mother-infant bond.
