Özet

1. Surface/groundwater sources are generally used for the irrigation of seasonal plants used in the landscaping of parks and gardens in urban areas during non-rainy periods. However, due to the temporary nature of seasonal plants in these areas, the quality of irrigation water and the fact that some elements in the irrigation water will pass into the soil and be stored there are generally ignored. 2. This study was carried out to determine the quality of water used in the irrigation of seasonal plants in parks and gardens. For this purpose, the quality of the water resources used for the irrigation of seasonal landscape plants in the outdoor green areas of Edirne province was evaluated. 3. Water samples were taken from three different stations in 2021 during irrigation seasons (spring, summer, and autumn). Some physicochemical variables (pH, Conductivity, Salinity, Ca, Mg, Total Hardness, NO2 -N, NO3 -N, SO4 , PO4 , Na), Sodium Absorption Rates (SAR), Kelly Index (KI), and Magnesium Ratio (MgR) values were also calculated. 4. While determining the water quality classes of the data obtained in the study in terms of surface water resources and irrigation water, seasonal landscape plants in the region were determined on the basis of species.
